Reading at SubText Books in Saint Paul during AWP.

April has been a wonderful and busy month!

On April 7, I visited with the curious, endearing students at George Walton Academy in Monroe, GA to read and participate in a Q&A about poetry. I then got to judge their creative writing contest. What talented young writers!

From April 8 to 12, I was in Minneapolis for AWP. On Thursday, April 9, I read with other contributors to Prairie Gold: An Anthology of the American Heartland  at SubText Books in Minneapolis.

I’ve had poems recently published in Codex Journal, Ninth Letter Online, and Iron Horse Literary Review. In IHLR, my poem “Needs Assessment” was set over lovely artwork by Oxana Mahnac (see image). I love the way the design turned out!

I participated in the Birds of Lace Proust questionnaire (a different poet featured every day during Poetry Month)–30 x Lace!

Lastly, I had a short story “Museum Without Walls,” published by the wonderful journal, Waccamaw!
